Western Pump division

The Western Pump company is considered the first to specialize in the manufacturing of deep well pumps in the Arabian Gulf and the Arab region. After fifteen years of experience working with the U.S. company Layne and Bowler, Alkhorayef Industries established in 1982 the first integrated manufacturing plant for turbine pumps equipped with modern machinery and technology, sparking the creation of the national turbine pump industry.

Western Pumps adopted a strategy to develop its products through research and testing to overcome the tough operating conditions present in the Arab region. It carried out different hydraulic testing to verify the performance of these pumps in terms of tests flow, pressure, capacity, efficiency, cavitation, material, and reliability, which led to the creation of new products able to raise the operating efficiency and extend the life of products in the toughest conditions.

Western Pumps has a production capacity of 4,000 units annually. It proudly boasts 14 different models with field efficiency above 80% and yields up to 3,000 gallons per minute in wells of 12-inch diameters and 1700 feet in depth.

Milestones

Technology

We have been distributing and manufacturing vertical turbine pumps for more than 40 years. To meet the increased demand of the customers, modern technology machines, Computer Numerical Control CNC Machines, were introduced in 1990 with accuracy within 0.001 inches.

Certifications

The ISO9001 and ISO45001 certifications confirm the quality, durability and resistance in all operating conditions that Western Pumps guarantees.

The pump plant is equipped with a hydraulic inspection unit capable of testing the pumps for flow rate, pressure, horsepower, performance curves, net positive suction head (NPSH), cavitations, water hammer and water quality. AIC’s field research continues to resolve customer problems and provide solutions that are both sustainable and practical. The modern manufacturing facility, ISO certifications and a dedicated staff has enabled the company to produce reliable pumps of optimum operational efficiency with a long service life in the most aggressive operational circumstances. These pumps can be deployed in wells down to 1,200 feet and discharge from 300 to 3,000 gallons per minute.
